 The Department of State has issued this Worldwide Caution to update information on the continuing threat of terrorist actions and violence against U.S. citizens and interests throughout the world. U.S. citizens are reminded to maintain a high level of vigilance and to take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness. This replaces the Worldwide Caution dated January 24, 2012, to provide updated information on security threats and terrorist activities worldwide.
The Department of State remains concerned about the continued threat of terrorist attacks, demonstrations, and other violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests overseas. Current information suggests that al-Qaida, its affiliated organizations, and other terrorist organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks against U.S. interests in multiple regions, including Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. These attacks may employ a wide variety of tactics including suicide operations, assassinations, kidnappings, hijackings, and bombings.

 "Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed Iran for an explosion on an Israeli tourist bus in Bulgaria that killed at least six people, and he threatened a forceful response."
"The blast yesterday at the airport in Burgas, a popular holiday spot on the Black Sea coast, occurred as the bus was preparing to leave the terminal. The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said six people were killed and at least 30 wounded and that Bulgarian authorities are working on the assumption that the attack was an act of terrorism."
“All signs lead to Iran,” Netanyahu said in comments sent in a text message. “Israel will respond forcefully to Iranian terror.”
"Israeli secret services warned their Bulgarian counterparts of a possible terrorist attack on Israeli tourists several weeks ago, Bulgaria on Air television reported, citing unidentified intelligence officials. Sewing needles found in sandwiches overnight on 4 Delta flights from Amsterdam to US. Strongly advise thoroughly checking airline foods prior to consumption.

 "Delta Air Lines Inc. and the FBI are trying to figure out how needles got into turkey sandwiches served aboard four flights from Amsterdam. One passenger was injured.
The airline said that what appear to be sewing [machine] needles were found in five sandwiches on Sunday. One passenger on a flight to Minneapolis was injured, but the passenger declined to get medical attention, according to Delta spokeswoman Kristin Baur. The other needles were on two flights to Atlanta and one to Seattle.
The FBI's Atlanta office has opened a criminal investigation into the matter, the agency said in a written statement.
"Messages went out to other flights en route from Amsterdam, where the sandwiches had been prepared by a catering company. Another sandwich served on the Minneapolis-bound flight also had a needle..."
"The sandwiches were made in the Amsterdam kitchen of catering company Gate Gourmet, and were to be served to business class passengers on Delta flights."

 "The U.S. Embassy in India expressed condolences Tuesday after an American naval vessel in the Persian Gulf opened fire on a small fishing vessel, killing an Indian and wounding three others."
"The U.S. said the "use of force was justified given that the small motorized vessel was approaching the Rappahannock supply ship at a rapid pace and failed to heed several warnings to turn away."
"The USNS Rappahannock used a 50-caliber machine gun."
"The approaching vessel is reported to have been 30 feet long, with three outboard engines and a crew of four Indians and two UAE nationals."
"The shooting took place just outside the Strait of Hormuz near Jebel Ali port."
Editor's Notes:
The whining has already begun with the surviving members of the crew saying they received no advanced warning from the U.S. warship they were rapidly closing on in a high threat environment that they were going to fire.
