What You Need To Know |
On Thursday, AlertsUSA subscribers were informed of the release of a new issue of an Al Qaeda linked online magazine 'Wolves of Manhattan' within which followers are urged to capitalize on civil unrest in the U.S. and European Union by infiltrating protests in order to carry out attacks, with a particular emphasis on targeting law enforcement.
Quoting from the publication issued by the Al Malahem Cyber Army:
"The appropriate time is when you see a verbal quarrel between an element and demonstrators, especially if the police officer is the one who attacks, and then this is your appropriate opportunity to respond. We recommend that you rely on the Molotov cocktail as your main weapon in the demonstrations, as it is more effective than the bladed weapons..."
"So come, 'Manhattan wolves' everywhere, go to protests and demonstrations to carry out your operations, invade for the sake of God and remember that an unbeliever never meets the one who killed him in the hell, and here these demonstrations have come to you on a plate of gold. Don't waste this precious opportunity, and remember that by your operations you are avenging your family in Palestine, Burma and Kashmir, and everywhere."
The publication also urges readers to use protests and demonstrations as an opportunity to inflict economic damage.
"My Muslim brother, if you are unable to take advantage of these demonstrations to shed the blood of the crusaders, then you have to be able to use it to drain their money, and there are many ways for this, including exploiting demonstrations to break down and sabotage public and private facilities. [...] On your way during the demonstration destroy all the cars, shops and kiosks that you see in front of you, and remember that the nation of the cross is common with their government in the war against Islam."
The publication also offers a one-time reward (paid with Bitcoin) for anyone who will kill a policeman in a Western country and provide imagery of the targeted assassination. They also state that the successful operation would not be publicized and the reward was only available to “Christians, Jews and Atheists.”
It's Not Just Al Qaeda
Readers are reminded that in addition to Al Qaeda-linked messaging and propaganda, since January of this year, ISIS-aligned media organizations have continued to publish posters, videos, and written material leveraging events such as the Capitol siege and mass shooting incident in Boulder, Colorado. This material is intended to encourage and incite homegrown violent extremists (HVEs) to carry out additional attacks in the U.S.. In a recent graphic from late March, the ISIS-aligned Al-Taqwa Media Foundation depicted photos of police officers outside of the Kosher supermarket mass shooting incident in Boulder, along with a hooded figure with a backpack full of explosives. The text on the graphic reads, “AMERICA What is all this agitation, and we haven’t even started yet? And the next, by Allah’s help, it will be worse.”
Other examples of recent ISIS propaganda are shown below.
AlertsUSA also reminds readers that the Islamic Holy Month of Ramadan began last week and runs through Thursday, May 13th. While the vast majority of Muslims around the world see Ramadan as a time for peace and spiritual renewal, there are also those who strive to make this month a time for unspeakable acts of violence, including here in the U.S. and in other western nations.
In consideration of these varied threats, along with the rapidly increasing tempo of mass shooting incidents and violent protests, AlertsUSA strongly encourages readers to heighten their level of caution and vigilance when in public venues and events where large numbers of people are gathered. Make it a point to regularly check local media in your area and keep your phone handy for breaking notifications from AlertsUSA.
AlertsUSA continues to monitor the domestic and international threat environment around the clock and will immediately notify service subscribers, via SMS messages to their mobile devices, of new alerts, warnings and advisories or any developments which signal a change the overall threat picture for American citizens as events warrant.

U.S. Cannot Afford A World War With Russia
Russia’s autocratic strongman, President Vladimir Putin, finds himself in an unenviable position. He is deeply unpopular at home. An old political rival, Alexei Navalny, has returned home from abroad in an attempt to overturn Putin’s increasingly unpopular regime.
Moreover, it appears to Putin as though US President Joe Biden is leading NATO and the European Union (EU) in a renewed encirclement strategy meant to break Russian power in Europe and ultimately push Putin himself from power.
Whether or not the West is stoking the flames of resentment and regime change in Russia, the fact remains that Putin clearly believes the West is responsible—which further threatens regional security at a time when American power is being stretched to its breaking point all throughout Eurasia.

China: Compromising U.S. Elected Officials
China is certainly not the only foreign government that has made American politicians wealthy, either directly or indirectly. Given the size of their economy and the wealth of commercial ties between U.S. business and China, however, they do it bigger and more broadly than anyone else. This beneficence, I believe, poses potentially serious questions about China's influence, China's access to American policy makers, and China's activities in the halls of power. Further, it shows the toothlessness of American ethics watchdogs that these issues have not been more thoroughly reviewed and challenged previously.

Chinese-Made Drones in U.S. Are Spying
In the last few days of the Trump administration, the president signed an executive order designed to prevent U.S. taxpayer dollars from being used to procure drone technology that is produced by foreign adversaries. The president was essentially saying, “Don’t give our enemies the keys to our kingdom, and if you already have, take them back.”
And yet, the Biden administration may disregard the magnitude of this threat and move to revoke that executive order and its commonsense approach to security.
